Paul Ryan uses good 'ole Republican rhetoric to woo Ron Paul supporters

By, Chris Rossini

Niccolo Machiavelli is known for saying, "Men are so simple and so much inclined to obey immediate needs that a deceiver will never lack victims for his deceptions."

In the political sphere, no group of people are more easily (and consistently) deceived than Republican voters - especially those who believe in a limited government.

Every four years, Republican candidates dust off their little black book of rhetorical tricks and shower loyal voters with small government slogans.

Republican voters fall for it every time.

Government never shrinks.

Now it's one thing to trick the red-blooded Republican die hards; but Paul Ryan wants a challenge. He wants to catch the fish that refuses to stop fighting.

He wants Ron Paul supporters.

Ryan tells Bret Baier:
“We see eye to eye on a lot of issues,” Ryan said. “We believe in sound money. We believe in economic freedom. We believe in the founding principles. We believe this is a watersheds moment for America, whether we are going to reclaim the American idea or a cradle-to-grave welfare state which is where I think the president is taking us. So, I think in the final analysis Ron, he and his supporters should be comfortable with us.”
This may come as a shock, but he's lying through his teeth.

If you're a Ron Paul supporter, don't fall for it. Read through The Truth About Paul Ryan and pass it along to other Paulians.

There is nothing "comfortable" about a Romney/Ryan regime. Instead, the thought of it should make your skin crawl.

  1. From the article:

"In the political sphere, no group of people are more easily (and consistently) deceived than Republican voters - especially those who believe in a limited government."

I no longer believe that such people exist. Rank and file conservatives are willingly lying to themselves.

On the "conservative" blogs I lurk at, people claim they want someone who is pro-second-amendment, and who will "get the US out of the UN." But each time someone who is for all of the things they claim they want, they are never acceptable to them.

  2. Not a word on foreign policy. Even if everything that Ryan said here was the gospel truth, still the Romney/Ryan neo-con foreign policy and Romney's insistence on the inane proposition that the defense budget should come to 4% of GDP regardless of foreign threats or our financial position are sufficient to disqualify this ticket by any thoughtful Ron Paul supporter.
